Yes, we recommend rotating your area rug 180 degrees every 6 months to ensure even wear.

Depending on the content of your area rug, mall pieces of fiber may come loose initially. This is normal and typically subsides within a few months.

Some rugs need to air out, especially if they have been wrapped up for an extended time. Any smell is non-toxic and will subside within a few weeks or days.

It just depends on your preference and where you plan to use the rug. Natural fibers like wool have been in use for hundreds of years and are colorful, comfortable, and durable. Synthetic fibers like poly or Sunbrella yarns offer high abrasion resistance and stain resistance, meaning they can be especially durable, even outdoors.

Please see our Care page for information and instructions.

We recommend that you roll the rug, rather than fold it, as folding can cause creases. Use a large piece of plastic and pierce it in multiple areas to allow the rug to breathe while being stored. Wrap it in the plastic along with moth deterrent flakes and seal it with packing tape.

Any textile can fade when exposed to sunlight and the air’s ozone. If you place your rug in direct sunlight the coloration may become muted as time goes on. If your rug is placed partially under furniture, the color can become uneven, which is why rotating your rug is important. Drawing your shades or window treatments during direct sunlight hours can help slow the fading process.
